Today, Wenonah Dragon Athletics dedicated the floor at Willie High Gymnasium to the late Emmanuel Bell, longtime girls basketball coach.
Family members Ashley, Reginald, and Alfred Bell were joined on the occasion by Mayor Randall Woodfin, Jefferson County Commissioner Sheila Tyson, Birmingham City Councilor Wardine Alexander, Birmingham Board of Education District 7 Representative Walter Wilson, former Birmingham City Councilor Jay Roberson, and more in honoring the legend.
The school also honored its 2024-25 girls basketball team during the event. The Lady Dragons made an Elite 8 appearance in the AHSAA State Tournament, and the school hung a banner recognizing the team's achievement.
