BCS App

The official Birmingham City Schools app gives you a personalized window into what is happening at the district and schools. Get the news and information that you care about and get involved.

Users can view district and school news, use the district tip line, receive notifications from the district and schools, access the district directory, and display information personalized to your interests.

Communications & Public Relations

The Strategy and Communications department is responsible to:

  • Supporting public relations efforts of the superintendent, board of education, district administrators and schools 

  • Engaging with stakeholders via social media

  • Event planning and promotion

  • Responding to and coordinating media requests and inquiries

District Branding

The Strategy and Communications Department is responsible for maintaining a strong visual identity system that is progressive, innovative and visionary. View the Branding Standards in order to ensure the BCS logo is used properly in the archives.

Branding services include:

  • Graphic Design -- Booklets, Brochures, and other Multi-paged Documents; Printing Services

  • Webmaster -- Website and social Media requests

  • Press Releases, Interviews, Photography, Media Advisories, etc.

Broadcast services

Instructional Broadcast Services and Distance Learning provides instructional programming for students, teachers and administrators of the Birmingham City Schools.  The deaprtment's tools, programming, production and delivery to the classroom, provide added dimension to the subjects being taught.  By the same delivery system, the department also provides administrative messages to students and teachers in a timely manner.
