The BCS Under the Lights Thursday Night Game of the Week is a Battle of the Rams as Carver butts heads with Ramsay in a critical 5A Region 5 contest.
Led by senior linebacker and leading tackler (308 for the season) Marquel Patterson, Ramsay (4-3 overall, 3-1 region) will look to slow down the high-flying Carver (3-2 overall, 3-1 region) offense sparked by running/slot back Dmitri Howard, who averages more than 140 all-purpose yards per game.
Head-to-head matchups serve as tiebreakers for determining region winners and rankings, so the Battle of the Rams could have post-season implications. Carver and Ramsay are currently tied with fellow BCS competitor Wenonah and Jefferson County foe Corner for the top spot in 5A Region 5. Corner has head-to-head wins over Wenonah and Ramsay with matchup against Carver on Oct. 25. Wenonah defeated Carver 28-20 last week but will play Ramsay also on Oct. 25.
