WBRC Fox 6 News spoke with Birmingham City Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Sullivan recently about registration and job opportunities in the district for educators.
“There is a difference between registration and enrollment. They’re enrolled in school, but parents just have to go in and click a button to update the information or change the information that may have changed, if they’ve moved or their phone numbers have changed then we need to make sure we have that information on file,” he said.
Parents can register their scholars at https://www.bhamcityschools.org/page/registration. Those who need in-person assistance can consult the help desk at the Lincoln Professional Development Center. The desk is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Dr. Sullivan also spoke about job opportunities in the district, with 50 openings available for teachers and 15 bus drivers positions available.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity if you want to drive a bus. The hours are flexible. You come in the morning. You leave in the afternoons. You have benefits, you also have a retirement system so anybody who’s interested in being a bus driver, people who are qualified to be a teacher please apply with Birmingham city schools at www.bhamcityschools.org,” he said.
