The Alabama Virtual Library gives every student, teacher, and citizen of the State of Alabama access to essential library and information resources with the click of a mouse. It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. Through the AVL, an equitable core of information sources are available to every student and citizen in Alabama, raising the level of excellence in schools and communities across the state.

NEW: The Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) now offers Geo-Location authentication to its users.  Geo-Location will allow most users to access AVL from home without the need for an AVL username and password.  Simply, go to http://www.avl.lib.al.us, and begin using the resources.  To access AVL from school, just click on the AVL icon at the top of the page and go!

 AVL resources are provided to all Alabama citizens through funding from their tax dollars.
