Hello.  I am Ms. Davida Tyson, and I am grateful for the opportunity to teach scholars for my 30th year. My favorite subjects are English/Language Arts and Mathematics.  However, Reading is, above all, my favorite.  I love to craft, sing, crochet, and cook.  Above all, I love, love, love to read. I graduated from the best university there is.  Yes, I am an Alabama A&M Bulldog.  I also attended Alabama State University, where I studied Education Administration.   I was Teacher of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year.  I have served as a Lead Teacher for about 20 years with Birmingham City Schools, a Lead Mentor for three years, and a Teacher Mentor for about ten years.  I am a Model Teacher at the Excellent Booker T. Washington K-8 School. I have one fabulous son, Theodore L. Tyson, and a loving dog named Caramel(although my son named her Soda Pop 🙂.

 I look forward to another exciting year full of love, laughter, and learning.
